The West Coast High Speed Rail Project is conceived to build a High Speed Rail line which will run along the coast of West Africa. It will cut across Cote d’ Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
The project idea was formally presented by Hammcobtb (Canada) to the Honourable Minister of Transport, Ghana on 26th April, 2012.
Hammcobtb, following a direction of the Honourable Minister of Transport, held a meeting with Ghana Railway Development who in turn directed Hammcobtb to approach Ecowas/Cedeao.
Hammcobtb approached the Ecowas Commission for Infrastructure and established contact with The Principal Officer, Rail.
This contact led to the issuance of a letter of interest/commitment from the Commissioner for Infrastructure to Hammcobtb.
IDOWU OBASA (CHAIRMAN) Idowu is an economist and a Chartered Accountant with hands-on experience in business management spanning over 34 years. He has extensive experience in Project management, Strategy, Operations, Management Finance and Global marketing. Idowu holds a degree in economics from the prestigious University of Lagos and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration. A one-time Manager with the audit firm of KPMG, Ani Ogunde & Co in Nigeria, Idowu’s business interests span Construction, Publishing and Shipping.

ALFONS ALEXANDER MAUCHLE (Director, International Operations) ALFONS is a Swiss/South African. He is a Senior Executive with 25 years’ experience with local and international Blue-Chip companies in – Logistics, Strategy and Operations. He has extensive experience in Global marketing to top executives in the automotive industry in N America and Europe, global logistics from raw materials to supply at OEM plants across the world. Alfons has been responsible for Cost Accounting of the entire business operations, benchmarked to GM, BMW, Toyota, DaimlerChrysler, Management Finance, Global Asset sourcing, Project management across continents/divisions/clients, e.g. moving operations from Czech to South Africa, and from South Africa to Brazil. He has also Achieved Volvo/D-C ratings. Alfons holds a B.Sc( Elect) Eng, an MBA, Diploma in International Financial Management, Executive Image Programme and Residence Business School of the Institute for Independent Business International.
Stephen Michael Jardine (Director, International Projects) Stephen is a South African and holds a Masters of Business Leadership (MBL) in Financial Management; Strategy; & Corporate Change from the University of South Africa – Pretoria – South Africa and a Bachelor of Commerce in Law & Economics from Rhodes University – Grahamstown – South Africa. He is an Executive Associate accredited by the Institute for Independent Business International (IIBI) and an Executive Coach trained and accredited by the Institute for Independent Business International (IIBI) He has extensive experience in rail and rail related projects some of which include: Bombardier Locomotive – Supply chain advisor (South Africa member of Transnet Freight Rail bids team – 599 locomotives); Bombardier Transportation UK Ltd – Project Leader Suppliers and Procurement (South Africa member of PRASA bids team – 3600 EMU’s; lead to source South African suppliers to underwrite the bid; contributor to localization plan; and Bombardier Transportation UK Ltd – Interim Assignment (Head of Procurement for Gautrain Infrastructure Project).
Mr. Bode Akindele (Director, Infrastructure, North America) Bode holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering; P .G.Dipl. in Building and M.Sc. in Construction Technology. He is a member of the Nigerian society of Engineers (MNSE), he is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB); and is a registered Construction Project Manager (Pr.CPM) with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professionals (SACPCMP). He has several years experience in the construction industry; and has worked as a Civil Engineer, Construction Manager and Project Manger at different times on various construction projects in West and Southern Africa
Mr. Yemi Hamid-Oke (Director, Infrastructure, Africa) Yemi is a versatile person with experiences in diverse fields such as Engineering and Construction, Banking, Insurance and Theology. Trained as a Technological Engineer with several years of practical experience and many other Post Graduate Diploma and Certifications both in Civil Engineering and allied fields. He sits on the Boards of several companies and organisations. He is well-established and networked in West and Southern Africa.
Mr. Babatunji Alabi (Non-Executive Director) Babatunji is a Qualified Information and Technology Expert with a degree and masters in information technology. He has several years of working in blue chip companies across Africa and Europe.

Micheal Abimbola Siyanbola (Managing Partner) Michael is a dynamic, seasoned and tested professional, who spent about 24 years in conglomerate and Insurance management. With wide experience in corporate transformation and Risk Management, Michael’s expertise resides in Strategy Development, Enterprise Risk Management, Financial Services and Human Capital Development. Michael holds a bachelors degree in Insurance and he was the best graduating student of the insurance department, University of Lagos 1985.
